About the Author
Dr DINH-VAN NGUYEN graduated from Medical School, University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) in 1980. From 1980 to 1990, he was instructor of Ben-Tre Middle School of Health, physician-in-Chief of Tinh-Bien District Hospital, and anesthesiologist of Central General Hospital of An-Giang province (Vietnam). Immigrated to Canada in 1991, he was retrained and got a diploma of Respiratory and Anesthesia Technology from Vanier College (Quebec) in 1995, and BScN from University of Ottawa (Ontario) in 2000. Working in the Ottawa Hospital (2000-2002) then with VON Ottawa and Carefor Health & Community Services (2002-2016). Certified member of the Canadian Vascular Access Association since 2012.

Đây là quyển sách rất hữu ích cho người hành nghề y ở Việt nam muốn biết các bệnh viện ở Mỹ dùng tiếng Anh như thế nào. Ví dụ các từ viết tắt được sử dụng rất nhiều để viết các y lệnh cũng như để ghi hồ sơ lưu trử. Tôi lấy ví dụ bác sĩ cho y lệnh “Sliding scale AC&HS, regular insulin, standard dose”, hay “Zofran 4mg PRN for N/V”. Nếu không học trước chắc chắn sẽ rất khó khăn để hiểu. Các từ tắt y khoa trong tiếng Anh có rất nhiều, không thể học hết trong thời gian ngắn. Cái ta cần nhất là cái thông dụng thì tác giả đã đưa vào sách khá đầy đủ và giải thích cặn kẻ. Đối với ai muốn thi vào làm nội trú ở Mỹ thì quyển sách này rất cần cho phần thi về kỹ năng lâm sàng: khám bệnh, hỏi bệnh, và viết bệnh án.

About the Author
Matteo Meneghini received the Ph.D. degree in the optimization of GaN-based LED and laser structures from the University of Padova, Italy. He is currently Assistant Professor at the Department of Information Engineering, University of Padova. During his career he has extensively worked on the reliability and parasitics of GaN-based semiconductor devices for application in the RF, power electronics and optoelectronics fields: his research is mainly focused towards the understanding of the physical mechanisms that limit the performance and the reliability of GaN-based LEDs, lasers, and HEMTs.

Gaudenzio Meneghesso received the Ph.D. degree in electrical and telecommunication engineering from the University of Padova, Padova, Italy, in 1997. In 1995, he was with the University of Twente, Enschede, The Netherlands, with a Human Capital and Mobility fellowship (within the SUSTAIN Network) working on the dynamic behavior of protection structures against electrostatic discharge (ESD). Since 2011, he has been a Full Professor with the Department of Information Engineering, University of Padova.
Enrico Zanoni was born in Verona, Italy, in 1956. He received the Laurea degree in physics (cum laude) from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Modena, Italy, in 1982, after a student internship with the S. Carlo Foundation, Modena.  During 1985–1988, he was an Assistant Professor with the Faculty of Engineering, University of Bari, Bari, Italy. From 1988 to 1993, he frequently visited the U.S. and established research collaborations with Bell Laboratories; Hughes Research Laboratories; IBM T. J. Watson Research Center; Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, USA; TRW (currently, Northrop Grumman); University of California, Santa Barbara, CA, USA; and many other industrial and academic laboratories. During 1996–1997, he was a Full Professor of industrial electronics with the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. He is currently with the University of Padova, Padua, Italy, where he was an Assistant Professor during 1988–1992, an Associate Professor of electronics during 1992–1993, a Full Professor of microelectronics during 1993–1996, and has been a Full Professor of digital electronics with the Department of Information Engineering since 1997.

About the Author
Anthony Holden is an award-winning journalist and biographer who has published more than thirty books, including lives of Shakespeare, Tchaikovsky, and Laurence Olivier. He is also the author of three autobiographical books about poker, as well as translations of opera and ancient Greek plays and poetry.

This book was a suggested read by the Pastor (Bishop Robert E. Smith) of Word of Outreach Christain Center because he read it and I have to say it was right on! It was a very easy to read book with some things we as a fellowship did not believe but over all it was a great book so much so I have passed it on so that someone else can enjoy it's message.

Karl Ludvigsen has a distinguished record of accomplishment at senior levels throughout the worldwide motor industry. He has received wide recognition for his work as an editor, journalist, historian and author. Not only has he been employed at senior levels with Ford of Europe, Fiat North America, and General Motors, but he has also been involved in editorial roles with Motor Trend magazine, Auto Age, and Sports Car Illustrated and Car and Driver. Ludvigsen is in demand from the press of North America and Europe as a source of information on industry trends, and he is a frequent speaker at conferences. A different engaging biography

Karl has taken on the biography of one of the most influential men in motor sport. The subject has suffered through a blizzard of attempts by other authors just recycling the same old quotes from previous attempts starting from "Lotus, the story of the marque" and "The story of Lotus 1947-1960" by Ian Smith. Doug Nye wrote another book often quoted.
This book dissects the subject into seven facets of the personality and explores each facet with interviews with persons intimate with Chapman. The book has many never before published original sketches by Chapman and photos that are new to readers and haven't been over exposed by less thorough authors.
A great book by a great author of a subject that I thought had just about been thoroughly cooked. Wonderful interviews with Peter Warr, who just recently passed away, capturing valuable insights that would have been lost forever.

Great read.

This book is a very insightful investigation of a very intelligent and forceful personality. (Colin Chapman)

Colin Chapman was not always right, although many of his associates were of the opinion that anything he said must be accepted without question or comment.

The reality is that when Colin Chapman was correct his creations in the motoring world were so far ahead of his contemporaries that he rightly deserves to be elevated to genius status.

The book is thoroughly researched and logically presented, and this makes the publication a must read for anybody with an interest in the Lotus vehicle brand.

A Balanced Look at Collin Chapman

I devoured this book. I know some of my former colleagues at Lotus who worked with Chapman bristle at books that purport to dissect the man and his motives, but I couldn't find anyone who said anything really biting about Ludvigsen's book. Yes, it's an armchair psychology session to some extent. However, the author doesn't delve deeply into Chapman's public foibles, but seeks so analyze what made him make the choices he did at various stages throughout his life, and why he pursued certain technological paths. Thus, Chapman doesn't come off looking like a heartless bastard (as some have portrayed him) or a massive opportunist. He's a man with failings (some rather large) who is imperfect, but moved the design of racing and road cars along farther and faster than any of his contemporaries. And Ludvigsen shows you how he did it... as well as the many mistakes he made along the way.

This makes my top five list of Christian books.

The author is a respected emergency medicine doctor who did not seek out these stories, but they were told to him spontaneosly by people who had just been resuscitated from medically documented states of physical death. There are many books of this kind that are compilations of stories by people who may or may not have actually been physically dead, and often they are told months or years after the fact. I think some people dream or make up these stories to get attention or to defend preconceived ideas, but people in emergency wards who are in the midst of life and death trauma experiences are remembering things that just happened, and are not in a state of mind to make up stories. For reliable accounts of what it is like to pass beyond the veil, this is THE book.
